Portreath

With the longest coastline in Britain, Cornwall welcomes millions of visitors each year to drink of it's stunning natural beauty, whether inland or around it's ocean kissed shores.
We believe that our village of Portreath situated as it is on the magnificent North-western coast, is one of the most spectacular beauty spots in the county.

Only a few minutes from Cornwall's main trunk road, the A30, the village nestles at the mouth of a picturesque valley that meanders through ancient woodland before bursting on to a secluded, sandy beach where both the family and the more energetic water sports enthusiasts can, for a while at least, throw off the cares of the world.

Historically rich and naturally blessed, Portreath now welcomes and cares for the needs of a multitude of visitors each year. Portreath offers a  wide range of facilities, including it's sandy beach for swimming or just lazing; surfing and windsurfing; fishing; the National Trust coastal footpaths with their breathtaking scenery; inland parks and woodland walks bringing healthy relaxation amidst what are often unique flora and fauna.

For those with an interest in what shaped this lovely village one is never far from the gaunt yet somehow romantic reminders of Cornwall's great tin mining heritage a proud heritage which formed the very foundation of the "Poldark" story.

Here in Portreath and in the surrounding area one can still find the monuments to those bygone days, the very harbour itself, once the north coast's most important, was born to welcome coal for the mighty steam engines of the mines, and export the hard won core from within it's sheltered arms.

Car parking at the very edge of the sea, cafes, licensed restaurants, a good range of shops, 4 public houses, a garage, hotels and guest houses all add to the convenience of the village; couple these with a wide selection of self catering facilities, including camping and caravan sites, and you will find that Portreath lends itself admirably to ensuring that you, "Our Guests", enjoy all that is best in this fortunate place.
