Newquay beaches could have been purpose built for surfing. They are pounded by surf created from the mighty Atlantic Ocean, which has the momentum from 3000 uninterrupted miles. 
Newquay Fistral and Watergate Bay beaches play host, each year, to world championships. Visitors attend to take part or spectate from as from as far as Australia,U.S.A., Africa, Japan, and many European countries. The wind, tide and water combine to provide us with what the pro's call the perfect wave, putting us on a par with Bondi, Malibu, and Waikiki. Whilst Fistral Beach attracts the professionals, the towns sheltered beaches, Towan, Great Western, and Tolcarne all provide a safer Haven for novice Body Boarding, and Malibu boarders.
