The Tregony is a pleasant and welcoming guesthouse in a prime location overlooking Porthmeor Beach in St Ives Cornwall. Tregony welcomes families and offers a choice of a double room with single divan or double room with bunk beds for family parties. We cater for children over three years of age.
The remainder of our rooms are doubles. All rooms have en-suite facilities, table and chairs and a television (with remote so you can watch in bed!). Our rooms are light and comfortable and have been decorated in soft, pastel colours for the enjoyment of our guests.
The views from Tregony across Clodgy Point and the Island, as well as Porthmeor Beach are far-reaching and our guests always feel they are comfortably in the "heart" of St Ives being just a short walk from the beach and all of the town's facilities.
There is much that St Ives has to offer to its visitors, which is why the town is so popular and achieved the "Best Seaside Town of 2007" accolade. With younger visitors (and those young at heart) the golden sands and the sea are an important part of any holiday experience. In addition, though, St Ives is a very artistic community, with painters drawn like moths to the unusual lighting conditions to be found here – a product of being virtually surrounded by the sea.
Throughout the town, the artistic achievements of past and present residents are celebrated in museums and galleries. The Tate, Barbara Hepworth Museum and Leach Pottery are the best known of these but countless small galleries await discovery tucked away in St Ives’ narrow streets.
Fortified by a hearty and very tasty breakfast from your stay at Tregony, you will be spoiled for choice when it comes to spending your days. Cornwall is well known for its stunning coastline and the coast path offers an excellent way to explore some of this.
By car, you can easily travel around much of the county, taking in Lands End, The Lizard and Falmouth. The Eden project is a feasible day trip with Truro and Newquay easily achievable in a morning or afternoon’s excursion.
Tregony offers year-round accommodation; allowing guests to make the most of out-of season opportunities (generally we have good weather in Spring and much of the Autumn) so whatever the time or purpose of your visit, we look forward to welcoming you to St Ives and the Tregony Guesthouse.
