Valleybrook lies in a quiet country valley set in rolling farmland and is 6 miles west of Looe and 3 miles inland from Polperro and Fowey. Although remote from the busy tourist resorts, it is within easy reach of towns, coasts and attractions and provides an ideal base for exploring.
The 9 acre site is bordered on one side by a brook and with more than half the area being undeveloped woodland and heath, provides a haven for many species of wildlife.
The stream attracts many species of bird, kingfishers and herons being regular visitors - last year one guest counted 31 species.
As there are only eleven accommodations and no mobile phone reception, there is a peaceful atmosphere in which you can relax and unwind.

The cottages form a terrace, parts of which pre-date 1748 and part of which was the local inn during the early 19th Century. They were also the home of the well-known authoress Mary Wesley during the 1940s.
Although retaining their beamed ceilings and Cornish-stone fireplaces, they have been modernised and equipped as below to provide our guests with high standard, comfortable, homely accommodation.

St. Veep Riding Stables
St. Veep Riding Stables are located just 3 miles from Valleybrook. Riding camps for both adults and children are just one the many attractions of St Veep Riding Stables, where Josephine and her staff pride themselves on the individual attention given to their clients and the care lavished on their horses and ponies. On top of a hill overlooking Fowey and Polruan, with stunning views of land and sea, this is a really lovely place to learn to ride, and the standard lessons - group, semi-private or private - cater for all ages and abilities. Other offerings include rides and lessons for tiny tots, all-day and half-day sessions for `Saddle Addicts', hacking by the hour and residential courses.

This affiliation allows Valleybrook to issue to its guests' discount vouchers valid at the courses indicated.
Boating
Penmarlam Quay is located just 2 miles (5 minute drive) from Valleybrook on the southern bank of Mixtow Pill and provides storage and launching solutions to a wide range of boats. Through the use of our main boat hoist, they are able to recover/launch boats with displacements of up to 8 tonnes and beams of up to 12' 6". Additionally, they have other plant that can handle smaller boats with or without their own trailers.
